Graduate Career Services provides direct career and professional development services tailored to the needs of Master's and PhD students at the University of Virginia. These services supplement the career planning and professional development programs offered by academic departments and other support services on Grounds. Our function includes streamlining resources, keeping abreast of current trends, and collaborating with faculty, employers, and professionals in higher education and in other sectors of the economy.

All Master's and Doctoral students and Postdocs who are currently enrolled, conducting research on or off-Grounds, or newly graduated are eligible for advising services.  Graduates and Postdocs may take advantage of Graduate Career Development services up to one full semester after the completion of their degree programs or training  (through the end of the summer for May degree recipients).  From that point on, as alumni they may consult Alumni Career Services.
