The Advanced Research Computing Services (ARCS) second annual “Tacos and Tips on Supercomputing” open house event will take place on Thursday, March 24 between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. in room 112 of the Albert H. Small Building. Attendees will receive updates from ARCS staff on the University’s newest (and fastest) collection of supercomputing resources as well as tips on accessing Rivanna. ARCS is also offering tours of the Visualization Laboratory—or “Viz Lab”—which features a cool interactive touch table and a large high-resolution display wall comprised of 20 Christie MicroTiles. CISCO teleconferencing equipment connecting the Viz Lab with ARCS’ central office will allow visitors to see and hear each other during the event. There will also be food, prizes, and a short video presentation put together by Cray, Inc.
