Three Minute Thesis, or 3MT, is an academic competition that challenges Ph.D. students to present their dissertation work and its significance within three minutes to a general audience with the use of just a single visual aid. It's also the perfect way to prepare for job interviews!
Do you think you have what it takes to describe your dissertation in a clear, compelling, and succinct way? Entries are now being accepted for the Third Annual UVa Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, the winner of which will receive $1,000!
The UVa 3MT entry process is quick and easy - simply fill out the entry registration by 5:00 pm on February 3rd and you will be entered in the competition, pending eligibility. Entrants will compete in preliminary heats, from which finalists will be selected by a panel of intersciplinary judges to advance to the UVa 3MT Live Competition on Wednesday, March 2nd at 3:00 pm.
Eligibility: UVa graduate students enrolled in a doctoral program who have passed their qualifying exams are eligible to enter the 3MT competition.
