2016 UVA Three Minute Thesis Competition

The Auditorium of Harrison Institute & Small Special Collections Library

Three minutes isn't much time to give directions to the nearest coffee shop, let alone explain a 50,000 word doctoral dissertation that has taken years to research and write. That's exactly what we're asking our doctoral candidates to do in the 4th Annual UVa Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition. What's more - we're asking these competitors to do so without props or discipline-specific jargon to lay audiences. Click here to learn more!

The 3MT is an academic competition offering students the opportunity to present the significance of their doctoral research in a succinct and compelling way to audiences outside their field. This year's competition will feature 8 finalists from across the University in a final live competition. Come and cast your vote for the best presentation! This is a great opportunity to learn about the excellent research happening across Grounds.
